What Happens

This program begins with the simulation, Gold of the Desert Kings. Gold kicks off in a flurry of information from your adventure guide with instructions on how to battle the elements and get to the mountains to mine for as much gold as possible! As the 25-day journey begins (each day is 3 minutes long), teams rush to compete against each other in a challenging race across the desert with limited time and resources. The pressures and anxiety experienced in Gold are similar to those experienced daily in a hectic work schedule. Participants contend with deadlines, a perceived lack of resources, others’ point of view and the pressure to just do something while trying to accomplish team objectives.

The afternoon of the program is focused on ensuring that our activities are reflecting our desired productivity. Individuals assess their own desired results and the priority of those results. We also look at an honest assessment of the participant’s daily, weekly and monthly activities and if those activities deliver the desired results. The afternoon work session also addresses the team’s skills and available information that may be currently untapped.

Applying the Spark

At the end of the program, participants are required to consider their own personal goals and how they align with their productivity and put together Applying the Spark, a 90-day implementation plan. This plan considers the current goal clarity of the participant and the desired skills and practices around maximizing productivity at the end of the 90-day period. Specific, time-bound steps are identified to close the gap. This plan is shared with the participant’s leader within 5 days of the training once the participant is back on the job.

  • Timeframe: 6 – 8 hours
  • For group sizes that range from 10 to 50 or more participants
